Absolutely fantastic. It's so good to be able to see him perform live after all these years away. I have and will always be a Cat Stevens fan. I could listen to him for an endless amount of time. This was my third time in three years, never thought I would have the opportunity to see him. Thank You

About
Cat Stevens rose to fame in the swinging '60s with chart-topping pop hits such as "Matthew and Son" and "The First Cut Is the Deepest." His early career was interrupted by a near-fatal battle with tuberculosis - a turning point that ignited his quest for peace and understanding. Emerging from this experience, he rapidly rose to become one of the most prolific singer/songwriter icons of the '70s, captivating the world with soul-stirring anthems such as "Wild World," "Father and Son," "Peace Train," and "Morning Has Broken." His classic albums Mona Bone Jakon, Tea for the Tillerman, and Teaser and the Firecat have earned him a rightful place in both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Following another dangerous encounter with fate and a near-drowning experience in 1975, Cat's life took a spiritual turn as he converted to Islam and changed his name to Yusuf Islam. Leaving the music industry behind, Yusuf dedicated his life to God, family, and humanitarian work, for which he received numerous prestigious international honors, including the World Award for "humanitarian relief work helping children and victims of war" and the Man of Peace Award, voted for by The Nobel Peace Laureates.
The latest chapter is Yusuf's return to music, through which he has re-joined his past and present lives. Now known as Yusuf/Cat Stevens - a name that represents the synergy between the two key periods of his existence - his inspirational story is one of quest, survival, and redemption. With more than 100 million records sold and billions of streams, his soulful voice and poetic lyrics continue to inspire, now intertwined with a life of activism and altruism. As a campaigner for faith education, ecological consciousness, and humanitarian work, Yusuf has become a global advocate for peace and coexistence.

Best Concert I've Ever Been To!!!!
by flavrem on 2016-10-08Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5Yusuf/Cat was amazing. He played almost all of his popular songs( he has a lot) and he sounded superb. I have seen him both times he has come to Canada since he started touring again and they were 2 of the best concerts I've ever been to.
The Cat Came Back
by Avalon58 on 2016-10-05Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5I have never seen Cat Stevens in concert, and only know him from his albums in the 70's. I have not followed him since Yusuf resurfaced a few years back, so I really did not know what to expect. The ticket prices were very high, but I bought 2 and away my wife and I went. What an amazing show. Great stage set up, and with 2 other musicians Cat wove a story, taking the audience on a chronicle journey of his life and music. The crowd loved it all, and there was a lot to love. We left greatly satisfied, and felt the money was well spent.

YOUR SOUL WILL B TOUCHED IN THE MOST WONDERFUL WAY
by A1SHA on 2016-09-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5I thoroughly enjoyed his show. I was so happy he played all the tunes from so many different albums. I went to see him in UK in 2014 and people in the audience expressed how they really wanted to hear his old tunes...Well this acoustic intimate rendezvous was absolutely that...we were led by the hand across time. He shared parts of his life from beginning to present....anecdotes and personal pieces of his life were woven in between the songs giving us insight into his mood and mind at the time he wrote them. I felt like I was in his living room! All I needed was a cushion and tea. He let us into the past 50 years and the acoustic sounds took me back to places I used to be i.e. on a hilltop in Nepal listening to "Miles from Nowhere" in the early 1990s when I had my Sony walkman and the "Tea for the Tillerman" cassette bought from a crooked-toothed street vendor in Kathmandu. "How Can I Tell You" and "Father and Son" were the soul warming cherished songs I awaited. One could see how visibly touched he was as he sang them. I just let myself be taken by his words in all his songs. Since I am such a big fan I knew most of the words of every single song because I poured over all his albums over and over through my travels and through my youth. It was my one and only EID gift to myself - a VIP ticket right in the front. A single mother of four recently out of an abusive marriage I had a night of pure soul-touching joy and will look forward to doing it again soon.
Amazing!
by atlas on 2016-09-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5It was amazing show also because it was rare. It was unique experience. I would recommend this show to everyone else who is fan of Cat Stevens but I don't think he will do any shows like that in near future. This one was the only one in Canada. Last time he did any public performances was maybe 20 or more years ago.
Peace Train Lives!!
by SammyJo58 on 2016-09-18Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5Yusuf/Cat Stevens puts on a show that is not to be missed. He takes you on an almost three hour musical journey through his long list of introspective songs that reach out to your heart. Talented, with a sense of humour and a voice that time has not diminished, Yusuf sings the songs we know and came to love throughout our lives. Listening to "Oh Very Young" as the last song, I thought of my brother and his wife who I lost in June and April of this year. You are only on this earth for a short while and I am very glad to have been on this earth when Yusuf/Cat was. Thank you so much for the music. An evening I will treasure and never forget.
Another good show from Yusuf/Cat Stevens
by Delores3 on 2016-09-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5Enjoyed Yusuf/Cat's show at the Sony Centre this week. As my husband said, it was a Cat Stevens "history lesson". Throughout the night, Cat told his story, weaving songs throughout the narrative. And not just his songs but songs that influenced him. He's very personable on stage; funny and a great story teller. He said he had returned to build bridges and he certainly did that. Despite the annoyingly long line-up outside the Sony Centre to facilitate the credit card entry, it was a very pleasant and entertaining evening. Thanks, Yusuf!
Inspirational
by RussC on 2016-09-16Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5I spent hours listening to my older brother's Cat Stevens albums growing up in the early to mid-80's. I took my brother to this concert, and immediately the memories flowed back. Yusuf took us on an amazing musical journey, as he mixed interesting stories with songs. It was like hearing a biography read and sung by it's author. So good for any Cat Stevens fan!!!! Even my wife, who is not as big a fan as myself, would have given 4 stars. So there you go! Lastly, the stage set design was beautiful, and enhanced the experience even more. It was as if we were outside in Yusuf's cozy backyard, listening to him tell stories and sing songs in a campfire setting, minus the fire. If you love Cat Stevens, you should not miss this 50th year celebration of one of the world's greatest songwriters. The man's voice is in as good a shape as ever! A golden performance for a golden anniversary!
Once in a Lifetime Experience!
by Anonymous on 2016-09-15Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5Words cannot express how my husband and I both felt to be at this show. It was a dream come true for us! Through his songs and his spoken words, Yusuf showed us all how to love and be peaceful. He is an amazing influence on all who are lucky enough to see him and hopefully, through one person at a time, we will be able to live a life filled with love and kindness. Thank-you, Yusuf, for educating us all on what it is to be a peaceful, loving human being in a world where so much of this is missing. We felt your love and give it right back to you. xoxoxo
