Mike Birbiglia is a comedian, writer, director, and actor who has performed his award-winning solo shows worldwide--from the Sydney Opera House to the West End of London to Broadway. His five solo shows "Sleepwalk With Me," "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend," "Thank God For Jokes," "The New One," and "The Old Man & The Pool" enjoyed successful runs on and off Broadway and became hit Netflix comedy specials. His work on "The Old Man & The Pool" earned him a 2024 Emmy nomination for Best Writing. He is currently touring with his newest comedy show, "The Good Life." Mike's shows merge storytelling and comedy in a way that The New York Times has called "Birbiglian." Birbiglia also wrote, directed, and starred in the films "Sleepwalk with Me" and "Don't Think Twice." As an actor, Birbiglia has appeared in the films "Trainwreck," "The Fault in Our Stars," "Popstar," "A Man Called Otto" as well as TV roles in "Orange Is the New Black" and "Billions." He hosts the podcast "Mike Birbiglia's Working It Out."
Loved the show. He is so funny. Getting from the parking lot to the theatre was no fun. But, Mike was which is why I went there in the first place.
My spouse and I saw him at the Niagara Fallsview. I really like how Mike tells a story in his comedy shows and in this particular show he didn't have as much of a story but we still enjoyed and laughed a lot. There was a lot of crowd work, which really showed how Mike is able to think on his feet - it was funny how he managed to tie in jokes he'd made earlier with the crowd. I'm looking forward to the Netflix (or whatever platform) special of this particular show so I can watch it again.
The show started off great - the first 20 minutes or so got the whole crowd really going like traditional Mike. But then, he got obsessed with anybody getting up from their seats...and especially the empty 'rich' seats in the front - he asked anybody from the backrow to come down to take the seats - but of course security wouldn't allow this which led to a long and uncomfortable delay which took the air out of the room. Then he just couldn't get going again...and people ACTUALLY began to leave...which further dampened the mood and let to only small bouts of laughter in the latter half of the show. I'm sure Mike will blame the audience - but as a professional, he needs to take responsibility for letting small things throw him off his game.
Great and very funny performance by Mike birbiglia. Very professional even faced with a medical emergency that stopped the performance he continued with ease like the true performer he his.
Mike was absolutely fantastic. His delivery, his timing, his stories, how he wove everything together were brilliant. He is really a master and I would see him again in a minute. A thoroughly enjoyable night of comedy.
Attended with a group of friends who have not seen much of Mike’s comedy, but all of us loved it and laughed a lot. It was hilarious and so fun and such an uplifting way to spend an evening. I know he comes back to Toronto soon!!
I’ll admit that after watching Mike’s previous special which I found to be a bit solemn was a bit hesitant to see him live. From the time he stepped on stage until he ended he was…perfect. I fell in love with his comedy after watching “My girlfriend’s boyfriend” and after seeing this show I became addicted all over again. The comedy was intelligent and extremely engaging (who uses the word “acrimonious” in their comedy act?!). Loved it from beginning to end and yes, Mike, “I do.” Thank you for a wonderful evening! Spectacular! 200/10
Best comedy show I've ever seen. He's one of the best comedians touring, I would go see him perform the same show if I could.
My husband and I had a great time with Mike Birbiglia, the only thing we'll do different next time we attend a show at the Queen E. Theatre, is get front row seats. Even though our seats were on an angle up in the balcony area, we couldn't see him due to the people sitting in front of us. But...fun was had by all!!
Good storyteller, very funny. Kept us engaged and interested
Very funny , great venue , would definitely go see Mike again
Mike was halarious, but was a tight squeeze. Seats are really close together.
Mr. Birbiglia is a fantastic comedian, and is even better live. I would go see him in again with all my favorite and least favorite people in a heartbeat
If you want to laugh, Mike Birbiglia never disappoints. From the moment he steps on stage, everyone is laughing, and sometimes we can't stop even if we try. Such a great performer! I will see him any chance I get.
I’m huge Mike Birbiglia and he did not disappoint! Was great to hear his new show after listening to Working It Out for two years, to see how those jokes-in-development ended up ready for the stage. This was my first time at Bluma Appel theatre and it is lovely. Would love to return to this venue for future shows!
I have seen Mike’s shows on Netflix, but this is the first rule I saw him live. I love his humour and had a great time! All the laughs.
Excellent night. So funny and an hour and half -great show.

So funny. Duck a great writer, story teller and comedian
I first heard Mike on the Bob and Tom show about 10 years ago and I have been a big fan ever since. He put on a fantastic show and the Bluma Appel theatre was a perfect place to see him. He is one of the best from start to finish. Look forward to seeing him again.
